:: The tita (tee-tah, sisterly love!) behind Healing Moon Wellness ::

Hi! I’m Liana.

Your Wellness Cultivator.

I believe that wellness opportunities should be accessible to everyone. I believe that you deserve to be seen, heard and valued and am here to support you. Together we can find your way back to balance and sincerely believe that you have everything you need within you.

The seed to my wellness business was planted 23 years ago when, becoming a young adult meant finding my fit - to be productive, purposeful and kind. But I didn’t know exactly how or if I’d fit into the blueprint: job, husband, kids, good citizen, matriarch for future generations. This solid blueprint was one of love and care and wrapped in our culture’s identity to manage our kuleana (responsibilities) well, respect our community and to try to make decisions that help people around us feel more comforted, happy and secure.

In the years that followed, I became curious and a little anxious to tweak the blueprint that had worked in my family for generations. I determined that my fit would become my purpose and supported by the values I was raised with. Yes, I did the first phase in the blueprint pattern. I continued education, worked, got married. Then, I listened to my inner calling to explore ideas to practice my island given values of aloha and to put my compassion into action. I would test, even redesign the blueprint pattern.

I took my aloha, my curiosity, courage and my gratitude of island hospitality to San Francisco and looked to fit in. I worked in retail giving my best to assist a young entrepreneur pursuing her dreams; I worked in education where I loved working with children struggling to fit into a society a little different from their norm and assisted in comforting preschoolers and parents over a threshold and into limitless possibilities through education, independence and trust.

It was then that my youthful thoughts of kindness, respect and generosity were clearly the next step in my personal growth. I did not have to venture away from home to learn what I had perhaps, suppressed as feelings, not purpose. And I am grateful that I took the opportunity. I was grounded in my fit - to help others while lifting them higher than myself and to recognize that everyone who ponders the question, “What is My Fit?”, is really good enough to celebrate who they are as they ignite their fit.

Healing Moon Wellness blends all that I have experienced, all that I know deeply, and all that I hope to learn with you in the name of holistic wellness. I have cultivated ideas that have transformed to complementary wellness choices including sound healing, meditation classes, aromatherapy, and in honor of my home and our best communication rhythm, healing connections through talk-story sessions.

We invite you to learn more about our offerings and values aimed at giving you a sense of belonging and place when you are seeking care, cheers, balance and inclusion.

LIANA HUANG

SMALL BUSINESS OWNER, MAKER & EDUCATOR

ana_bun.jpg

Liana Huang balances her work in administrative leadership and cultivating entrepreneurial ideals in holistic practices and presentations. Her vision is to offer a well-rounded style of healing to the mind, body and spirit so that a sense of restored energy, personal balance and a refreshed spirit ready to discover unlimited possibilities is gently received.

Educated at Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu and Hawaii’s Universities of higher education, her work has spanned from retail, medical records auditing, and education where she has flourished in the area of working with children diagnosed with learning and attention differences to directing educators in a preschool including the continued bridging of educator-student-parent experiences.

Travel into uncharted waters proved pivotal in helping Liana define her spark. Surely experiences away from home were eye-opening and enlightening to this island girl. People. Get Chance. Blossom.

Whether at home in Kaneohe, Oahu or in the city of San Francisco, Liana’s motivation and care are whispered by her grandpa’s wisdom; “Everybody get chance” in the local language understood only by those fortunate to have received aloha. With his words, the wisdom passed on was “come, hiki nō (can do)” and we’ll find a way to do it together.

"Everybody get chance"

GRANDPA

The story of “grandpa’s words” was brought to light when, as the Admissions Director of a special needs school in San Francisco, Liana delighted in the students, their learning differences and their enthusiasm at a school where everyone was the same; no judgments, no difficulties, no worries about sharing thoughts, feelings, needs. Why not shine a light on that? The Kindness Club was Liana’s vision and the students brought a spirit of leadership, kindness, responsibility and grace - they had a club, a sense of belonging, an unquestioned pride and where they were embraced in pure acceptance. That led to community work, a refocus on positivity, a new conversation at home, and in full circle, a hug for kumu (teacher) Liana at the end of each club meeting in appreciation of their meaningful work. It is true; when you speak gently with aloha, the blossoms (children) will unfold.

They were nurtured and bloomed they did! Wanting to share their pride for what they’d been given, a group of “Ambassadors” joined Liana on her tours and introductory meetings with potential families looking for a “fit” for their child. You can imagine the pride, the engagement, the hard work applied by these special kids who chose to become the voice of their learning environment. Aloha aku, Aloha mai (When aloha is given aloha is received).

And now Liana has returned home. With family. With friends. With a renewed streaming light on her next phase including the cultivation of wellness for all. Always interested in wellness and alternative medicine, Liana found time to study meditation, sound healing, herbalism and yoga. She has founded Healing Moon Wellness to help others find balance in their lives because it is her kuleana (responsibility) to respect community while trying to make decisions that would help people around her feel more comforted, happy, secure and valued. Aloha is a way of life in Hawaii. Akahai (we will share kindness with tenderness).

“When I am with Liana I am reminded of the islands where I lived for many years. She embodies the spirit of aloha and the grace and beauty of the islanders. I feel blessed for sharing time with her. Liana has a big, loving, calm heart that puts you at peace with the world, and the city noise fades and once again I feel the healing spirit of aloha. Mahalo, Liana.”
